Lockdown lifted at Brevard County school after stabbing report investigated

Melbourne police say report of stabbing unfounded

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A stabbing report at a Brevard County school on Tuesday morning prompted a temporary lockdown, which was later lifted after police say they found no evidence or victims.

The stabbing was reported at Melbourne High School, located on Bulldog Boulevard.

School officials said Melbourne Police Department received a message that “someone was doing harm in one of the bathrooms.”melbourne

“Melbourne PD conducted a thorough search of the campus, concluding the allegation to be unsubstantiated and there had not been any dangerous activities taking place on campus,” police said in a statement.

 

Classes and school activities have resumed as normal.
