Brevard Co. Sheriff’s Office asking public to name new K9 puppy

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is once again asking for your help in naming the newest member of their Agency.The latest addition to their K-9 Unit is a 12-week-old male Bloodhound puppy that was donated by the Jimmy Ryce Foundation. He will be trained to search for missing and endangered children and adults.

The Jimmy Ryce Foundation donates Bloodhounds to Law Enforcement agencies in memory of Jimmy Ryce, who was abducted and murdered in 1995.

RULES OF THE CONTEST

  1. Name submissions will be accepted on the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Florida (Official) Facebook Page or the Sheriff Wayne Ivey Facebook Page.
  2. The deadline for name submissions is Friday, May 16, 2014, at midnight.
  3. If the name you suggest has a significant meaning or reason, please share the reason.

Sheriff Ivey and his K-9 Team will review the names and select a winning submission. We will announce the winner of the Name Our Puppy Contest and invite the winner to join us at our Swearing-In Ceremony where they will name and officially pin the Star on the BCSO’s newest K-9 member.
