Police searching for man who tried to rob TD Bank in Melbourne

MELBOURNE —
A search is underway for a man police said tried to rob a TD Bank in Brevard County on Saturday afternoon. Melbourne police said a man walked into the bank at the corner of Babcock Street and NASA Boulevard and demanded money from the teller. The teller gave the man a dye pack in between a stack of bills. The dye packs mark the bills and the robber once they leave the bank. The suspected robber noticed the dye pack, though, and dropped the money before it could be activated, police said. No one was injured during the attempted robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
