If you love meerkats, get excited — the new meerkat exhibit at the Brevard Zoo opens up this weekend and the new furry friends have been named just in time.
More than 1,200 votes were cast over a month-long poll for the names of the alpha male and female meerkats. Jasper, for the male, and Kiki, for the female, came out on top.

The names were announced at a VIP preview Tuesday.
The meerkat exhibit at Brevard Zoo, called Meerkat Hamlet, opens this weekend, which is also the zoo’s official birthday weekend. The zoo will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Meerkat Hamlet will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday.
