An 80-year-old driver hit a parked car, then crashed through a Merritt Island Hallmark store Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Joanne Youngblood, of Rockledge, was pulling her 2009 Hyundai four door car into the Hallmark store parking lot at 125 East Merritt Island Causeway around 9:30 a.m. when she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, troopers said.
Troopers said Youngblood hit Evelyn Lassiter’s 2007 Chevrolet four door car, which was parked, then crashed through the front of the Hallmark store.
FHP ticketed Youngblood for careless driving. Troopers said they will recommend Youngblood for a re-exam.
