The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will have a new co-star, the CNL Performance Plaza.

All the city’s movers and shakers were on hand this morning to unveil the new design renderings and thank the neighboring CNL Financial Group for their $10 million contribution.

The CNL Arts Plaza will be the centerpiece of the Dr. Phillips Center spanning one city block from Orange to Magnolia Avenue.

The open space will host outdoor performances and offer the perfect opportunity for people to gather and enjoy the space.

Florida Blue will sponsor the concert series for the inaugural season.

A big grand opening for the performing arts center and adjoining plaza is scheduled for 12 days in November.
