In the first two seasons of competition, Satellite’s girls lacrosse team has won the district championship every year. The Scorpions are continuing their success into this season with a 5-1 record, unbeaten against local competition.

“We’ve been strong since we’ve started,” coach Kelly Fanto said after a 17-1 win over Eau Gallie on Tuesday. “That’s because the girls have a lot of heart, spirit and desire.”

Fanto has coached Satellite’ since its club days.

“They get in there and they work hard in practice and they work hard on their own,” Fanto said. “We’ve had district championships the last two years, and we’re working on a third here.”
