PALM BAY — A man and woman are under arrest after police say a toddler in their care ate cocaine and then nearly drowned in a Brevard County swimming pool.

Police said Jacob Ricketts and Leanna Olivo-Comer were getting high and didn’t notice the child fell in.

The child survived. Police said subsequent tests showed cocaine in the child’s blood.

According to police, Ricketts said the child may have eaten some cocaine residue left behind in his bedroom.

Ricketts and Olivo-Comer remain in the Brevard County Jail.
